Job Description
Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to unload truck. Requires commercial drivers' license. If you enjoy driving but also would like to have ample home time, we may be a good fit for you. Our drivers head out Monday mornings and are back every Friday. No games played that's our deal. You will be assigned your own truck which is equipped to make your life comfortable such as a 3000watt power inverter Sirius Xm Radio. 32" Flat Screen TV. Refrigerator. Microwave. then to help out while backing into places we have every truck equipped with a center trailer mounted rear camera to ease any over shaded canopy that may be hard to see into. Our drivers average about 2600 miles weekly, and a paid a Salary rate with incentives instead of milage which varies to loosen the trust between driver and company. We operate as a Team instead of as a Number so you will feel as part of the family and be treated as such. Si Hablamo's Espanol Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required. Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs. Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes. Read bills of lading to determine assignment details. Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations.
