Manager, Project Management Office - Navitus Health Solutions (Appleton, Wisconsin)

Summary:
This position is responsible for creation and oversight of a project management office function charged with providing project management to various Navitus implementations and support areas. The Manager, PMO is responsible for the day-to-day operation and direction of projects with focus on strategic Client, Vendor, Business Development or Operational projects. Under the direction of the relevant business unit Associate Director, this individual is responsible for budgeting, planning, controlling and reporting of project and portfolio status to upper management. The Manager, PMO is also responsible for overseeing all resources on the project. An important aspect of this role includes the facilitation and coordination of communication with internal staff and external customers. The Manager, PMO will oversee a staff of project managers and project business analysts. The Manager, PMO will also actively manage select corporate projects.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Approximately 45% of time spent providing PMO Team Administration and Management Services.
  • Assists in the development and management of the PMO budgeting process for Navitus.
  • Assists in the communication and implementation of the Navitus strategy and vision.
  • Works with PMO leadership to set PMO strategy.
  • Works to continuously improve PMO standards and templates.
  • Leads PMO Team staff meetings.
  • Provides weekly 1-1 meetings focused on mentoring and career development.
  • Actively supports and manages components of the Navitus Corporate Prioritization Process.
    • Approximately 45% of time spent providing Project & Portfolio Management Services.
  • Provides the necessary project management for project planning, execution (including the development of project plans) while guiding the organization through the process and adhering to the plan.
  • Informs the necessary leadership when the scope of the project changes or should be changed.
  • Provides issues management support and reports issues to those impacted.
  • Determines appropriate resources for projects.
  • Fosters communication across teams.
  • Provides project status updates to customer management, management and Navitus leadership.
  • Manages internal and external customer expectations and other Navitus stakeholder expectations.
    • Other related duties as assigned or required.


    Qualifications:

    Experience: Knowledge of Project Management techniques and strategies and of related technology is required. Demonstrated experience in managing projects, resources and teams. Direct supervisory experience. This position requires a high degree of organization and structure. The Manager, PMO will be required to prioritize and manage many concurrent tasks and projects. Updates to documentation, the customer and other team members must be frequent and consistent. Creation of formal project plans and documentation necessary as required by the scope of the project. Experience in MS Project, Visio, MS Office Suite. Experience with large-scale, multi-team development efforts; a working knowledge of relational databases and transaction-intensive applications are preferred. Prior healthcare administrative, application or technical experience a plus, as well as demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations with emphasis on project management.
    Education: B.S. degree in related discipline or equivalent with minimum of five years experience managing projects and at least three years administratively managing support teams.

    Licensure/Certification: PMP, CPM or other designation desirable
